  • Removing lower oil pan...

Right now I am installing a bigger oil baffle in my car. I am having a hard time removing the lower oil pan though. How many screws are there?
I have taken 18 screws out. Is there something I am missing?

All the bolts that go around the out side should be removed. You may need to hit it with a rubber mallet to break it loose. Don't try to pry it off with anything. just hold it with one hand and tap it with the rubber mallet until it comes free.

All of the heat cycles makes the pan/gaskett "glue" itself to the upper pan.

Don't forget to check the torque of the upper pan bolts while you're in there.
