The slide-gate throttles do have a butterfly, just not in the traditional sense.. instead of a throttle plate pivoting on the diameter like the stock units do, the slidee throttles pull two half circles apart (like a door on a James Bond game) and virtually eliminate the turbulence flowing into the head. Not only are they bigger but much more efficient.. but as Mike said, very expensive. I remember seeing them on Steve Vicarri's Grp A car years ago..

They are NOT the M5 ones, but Magnesum Slide throttles.

Now a slide throttle does not have nay butterflies, it has a slide that opens and closes, this makes it so there is NOTHING in the intake track under WOT.

    These are VERY expensive!

People are also putting the M5 Tb's on their cars to. On your car they would be a wast of money. I'd say only 300hp+ cars need bigger then the 48mm tb's

    50mm throttle body...

hey guys, just out of curiousity, ive heard/seen some people talking about gruppe a cars using 50mm throttle bodies from the m5 on the s14. is this possible and what would be the benifits of such an upgrade on an otherwise stock motor, just for benchmarking, and what kind of benefits you would expect from a heavily modded engine? just trying to spark some debate, lets hear it guys!
Working...
