Hi, my name is Alex. I don't really belong here as my S14 is like 1000 miles away from its home right now, long since replaced with its 24-valve successor. But i still love E30 M3's

Too bad my 24-valve heart is under the knife right now :(

Dude, not having my M3 and especially not knowing the extent of the head damage, if any, is really driving me nuts! Last night i dreampt that i was on a submarine (???) and i had my cylinder head off and we were looking at it and all 24 valves were screwed and broken off.. it was terrible. Then other people on the boat starting stealing my new valves.. damn what a bad dream. Anyway, as evidenced by my coo-coo dream, i need my car back :t:

I know how you feel Alex, having nightmares about my car dying is something that I hope I never have. I've spent so much money on it, I don't know what I'd do.

Cone, how is the car driving?

What was the problem, I never heard what it was. Was it a cracked/warped head, or the head gasket?

It sucks! There is ALWAYS something!

I flushed the coolant about a month ago, then noticed that the top of my radiator is leaking coolant when the system is full. Once it gets below the top mark it's fine. So my radiator is going! So new water pump, therm, radiator, and silicone hose set, that should take care of it!

Alex and I are lucky in the fact that we have a good place to work on the cars and have good reasources on M3's! Do bad mine is in books and Alex's is his Dad!

It turned out that there was a small crack on an exhaust valve seat. The shop was saying it could of been caused from corrosion from the coolant not being changed enough. :sosad: The machine shop fixed it. I don't know if that was the best way to go. I'm almost thinking I should of just bought a rebuilt head, because they rebuilt it after they fixed it.

Mike, Yeah it's nice to have a good source around, though i rely less and less on my dad these days. I think that 12 or so years of endless questions has resulted in a pretty good knowledge base:jedi:

Hey Alex, what happened to the car that there might be head damage?
