In the Roundel, they said they fly the Mclaren guy over, just like what Chris said. I wonder if it costs that much, probably it would, since they have to individually ship the parts over here. That is crazy, you can get an awesome car for that much money.

see the ting is u cant import the 96 right now, its obd1 not 2 and there was one company trying to convert them in spain i think and they never got it to work, simple as that if there brought here u can drive them on the street even if it is under a show and race clause

I to was at TMS about 2 weeks ago (still got to devolpe the pics).
The F1 is cool! I got to sit in it!

Will also has a Grp A car in the back that was up on a lift, I got a LOT of pics of that. I also got to go threw his Speedvision car, totally cool!

There were a few reasons he inported the 94 vs the 96. They did have to put cats on the 94 to pass smog. I guess the 96 is not as clean as the 94 with smog stuff. The dam DOT regs suck!

I remember reading the article in last months ROUNDEL, I just purchased the book "Driving Ambitions" the McLaren F1 story.
it's an absoutley incredible book and it even comes with a poster(make sure you get a sealed copy as the posters have a tendancy to dissapear)

They perform maintenence, and generally (I hate using this word as a verb) "pimp" the car around to tracks like NHIS, Watkins Glen and events like Octoberfest to remind people that they have one at their disposal. The owner is just about the coolest dude ever, from what I hear.

I wouldn't let anyone touch my F1. I would probably commission a sign that read "No breathing allowed within 5 feet of this car."

Park Lane seems to be London's version of an exotic-car dealership street as they had a Porsche dealer, a Jag dealer exclusively selling their R cars, and a few others I can't remember. When I was there I also saw this guy in a Murcielago absolutely tearing through town, which is something I have yet to see in the Suburbs of D.C. where there are a few running around. Needless to say it was very cool, both the trip and the automobiles I saw when I was there.
That's the one I'm on about. Park lane is in Mayfair London, it a right posh, expensive part.

I think it's the only Mclaren dealer in the world, but with only 100 odd cars made there not going to need many!

What do Turner do to that F1, do they do all the maintenace?
As far as I know McLaren fly one of there technicans to where ever your car is in the world and he services it at A BMW dealer.

I read that article in Roundell and a company here I think specially Americanized the car for him. I think the one that he has over here is a 94 or something before they had OBII because they couldn't put OBII in it.

Heh. I even have it in one of the pics:

    Phear the precision arrow-making skills!

What I wouldn't kill to plug my Peake code reader into that every now and then. Not to mention that any time there is a fault, you just connect a line to the onboard modem and the car will talk directly to McLaren technicians. What a car.
