What grade hardware should I use for mounting calipers? I have the correct size at home but is grade 8.8. Is this ok?

Probably would be OK...but I think you should use 10.9.

Grade 8.8 metric hardware is roughly equivalent in strength to grade 5 SAE hardware, whereas grade 10.9 is similar to the tougher grade 8 SAE stuff.

On our cars, must of the applications where strength is important use 10.9 or 12.9 hardware. For example the flywheel bolts are 12.9 and driveshaft bolts are 10.9.

I would think the brakes would definitely be one of these critical applications.
