  • new to the scene!

hey whats up, i am a new owner of an 88 m3, i bought the car recentley and can't wait to get it running. thats right, i bought it broken, it has a spun rod bearing. the other part of that is, the motor is out of the car and in pieces. i am ready to do the work, i plan on purchasing that cd as it seems to be the only resource as a manual. the man i bought it from works at a german car shop in town and seems to be very knowledgable. it has a recently rebuilt head and recently replaced piston rings. i have not had the oppurtunity to look at the rod to see if it was damaged, i can see the scars on the crank and am in the process of finding a used one but i may just get this one machined. i am also going to the oil pump, rod bearings, and main bearings while it is down. if anyone could give me some sites to buy the parts including the gaskets, that would be generous. the car came with h/r springs, billsteins, momo rims, a momo steering wheel, a momo exhaust, and a strut tower brace. everything seems to be in order but i am suspecting that the car has been in a front end collision. i am very excited and can't wait to get the car on the road. if anybody has any advice that you feel is important, pls feel free to guide me in the right direction. i would love to post a pic but it is poor quality due to it being taken from a camera phone. thanks.

I was thinking the same thing.
All these poor M3s we see just abused. People have no respect for these cars it seems.
Its so sad,, kind of like seeing dogs and cats in the pet store.
I just want to adopt them all.

Good luck with your new project. Bring it back to life. Give it a good home.
Lots of good places to buy parts in the links section here.
Eurasian, partsbin.com, alloemparts.com, the big ones Turner, Bimmerworld, VAC.
If you need it for an e30 M3,,, there is a link to it from this sites LINKS section.
            Cheers
