Considering the value of some of the cars that participate, I always used to assume that vintage racing was really more like a parade. Wrong....some of those guys are really racing. I guess ego/competitiveness takes over.
Given the way that cars of wildly differing speed potential are just lumped together, I'm not sure I really understand or think appropriate the cut-throat desire some of those guys seem to have to compete.
