i go every year. it is awesome. would love to see all of you there. i love racing and it is my favorite venue. like the e30m3, she's hypnotic and just doesn't quit. what an event. i sit at the flashing turn-in arrow for turn1 that leads into the bus stop turn. always nice e30m3s there. get the weather though. some years it has been cold and that is not fun. if it's warm... you will be ruined for life.

just roll in and buy tix same day at track. no need to get in advance. i am leaving tomorrow to scope out the track and do some work. will return on the 24th for the race. wowee what an event. the e30m3 won 8 24hr race titles. back in the day. for years, even last year, the newer generation m3s would swap out drivetrain/final drive for the e30m3's. amazing that all these years later and still e30m3 parts are being used in place of newer generation m3. nice. e30m3ers... you've got the right one baby.

        the 24th. daytona beach florida.

I went in 2005 and it was sick! I has such a good time; I'm still recovering. Daytona is huge, so you don't have to worry about getting tix - very easy, just drive up.

I'm going to ALMS 12 Hours @ Sebring in March...anyone going to that?

AWESOME idea - let's do it!

Either that, or ALMS Petit Le Man @ Road Atlanta?

i went there last yr, was in the stand on the front straight near turn 1, it was crazy standing near the fence with the car going by at close to 170+ and u r about 30ft away, the sound and the air moving thru your body was crazy, my parents live 40mins away, i would watch the start of the race go home come back at night, come back in the morning catch the end, then have my own race back to ny, i'll b there this yr, save on food and hotel lol,

Why not camp out in the infield? That's the manly (and cheap) way to experience a 24hr race. Earplugs really start to hurt about 12 hours in, but good luck trying to sleep without them. I swear the sound is amplified inside the "bowl" of the speedway. Still an awesome experience. There's something zenlike about watching belching flames and glowing rotors by yourself at 4AM when everyone else is in bed. I used to attend the Rolex every year when I lived closer. Someday I'll make it back down there, but not going to happen this year.

However, I am trying to convince some friends to head down to Sebring with me in March. I was there for the first ALMS race of the E46 M3 and I'd love to do the same for the E92. Missed the Petit LeMans last year, but I'll be there this year. Corvettes and M3s upping the ante in GT2!!

lol, i've had my days of camping out, bridgehampton (waking up with a wild deer looking at u), limerock on top of a camper, (waking up in morning dew is not nice) + to drive 1100miles and b 40 min from the family and not go c them they would disown me, the 24 is nice, as much as i like racing watching them go around for 24hr gets boring, that's y i do the start (u get to see all the car that enter) the night (glowing brakes, flaming exhaust) the end (the survivors), the 12hr sebring and petit is a must also (i did those for awhile while racing with scca pro speed world challenge), bimmertc66 (bmw touring car #66) the marti graw type parting fri night with the beeds at sebring is crazy, and seeing the cars at night at petit on the back straight doing 180+ is insane (they go faster at night, denser air) yes i'll b at all 3, (watching, i'm a official track whore,) there was a time i'd buy some racing tires b4 i pay the mortage (not anymore, lol)
