  • M3 project gallery

Here are some pictures of my new M3 project. I am currently finishing stripping the body, and after I get that done I will start on my cage. I am hoping to make this like a project diary, to document my new car and my progress. I will try to update this thread every so often. Hope you guys like it, hopefully this car will turn into something great.

Picture of my motor, currently stock but awaiting a full build up. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet, but I am hoping for forced induction. :burn:

I'm really enjoying the build so far. I really want to get this thing done, but its the journey that counts, and I'm enjoying it immensly right now.

What exactly do you do again? Doesn't your dad own a shop or something?
If I ever get to go home for a little I'd love to check it out.

I make money and spend it on cars. My dad works for a private car collector in Costa Mesa. The shop is relatively small, but he's nice enough to let me keep my stuff in there.

I should clarify my previous statement by saying that I have purchased both of my cars and all of their parts with my own money that I have earned working odd jobs, selling parts, helping friends with car related stuff etc. I am pretty proud of the fact that I own 2 pretty historic cars outright and I am only 20, and I am a full time college student. I may have to sell my Mercedes when I go to college though, as I am going to be paying for college myself and there just won't be enough to go around. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there, but I'll never sell this M3, I'll live in it before I sell it.

My bad. I wasn't implying that you didn't pay for you car. I was just wondering if you worked at a car shop because I remember PMing you before and you made no mention of it. I'm in the same demographic as you (20 year old year round college student) so I know where you are coming from. So your dad's shop has all the tools necessary for your project?

I didn't think you were, I happen to have a lot of friends who have really nice cars that their parents bought for them and they irritate me, so I didn't want to possibly lump myself in with those people. My dads shop has everything that I need minus a lift.

The car should be getting some tubes in it within the next few weeks. Here are some teaser pics of parts that I have.
