  • my E30 m20b25 goes to ///M3 look

Hope you don't mind guys that I post my car here because my car isn't a real M3 nor S14 but a m20b25 in M3-Look body.

The project started in this year in january and ended in two month after. I bought the car for four years and it was a m20b20 with 129 HP. After the engine has given up I transplanted a m20b25 engine in to the car. I drive the car with a very short differential 4.11. So the car is quick however the top speed isn't that high as could be. At the moment I am very happy with that engine I use this car as weekend fun car and do not drive it every day.

Maybe in the future I will change the engine to a M50B25 with 192 HP but now I am happy to own the car as it.

I used OEM BMW fenders and rear window frame for the project as the trunklid is also original. The bumpers, side skirts, EVO Wing are aftermarked pieces. I am planning to put on the Cecotto front or EVO splitter to complete the EVO-Look. I painted the car in Nogaro Silber and smoked the Star Tec tail light a bit more.

The car was a facelift modell so I had to change the rear bodypanel too, and refinished the doors also.

I am running RH ZW1 in 8,5x17 and 9,5x17 with TOYO's in 215/40 size allround. The car is dropped on Supersport springs and coils 60/40. I have to change them to KONI in the future.

So I hope you like my car and do not mind to post it here

Here is how my car looks as I bought it

    and today

She came out great. The only thing that gives it away is the 4 lug suspension, but
I'm very impressed with the C-pillar conversion.

Nice work your car looks great. Looks like a fun project. If you wanted you could build a 2.9 stroker out of a m20, get well over 200hp and and lots of torque. This approach would be much less of a hassle than an m50. It was made to fit and the wiring harness wouldnt be a pain in the ass either. Cams are cheaper because you only have 1 and you can adjust the valves in less than an hour from the time you pop the hood. No special tools no shims, just cheap and easy. I built one 10 or 12 years ago and it was an animal. Ray Korman runs a stroked m20 in D-Mod and is very competitive against some pretty well tweaked s 14's. Or you come to the dark side and drop in an s14.

Thanks. If you are interested I could supply all the parts to build the motor. Its pretty straight forward you will also need a good machine shop with torque plates and a builder you can trust if you arent building it yourself.

She looks perfect with the 5 lug suspension.
