I haven't decided on mounts yet but most likely will fabricate something myself.
Friend is running AKG mounts and they work well but $200 plus all the cost to get them from US

This mehod has been used by him in his S50B32 so it is well tested. He did also take the car to DEKRA in Germany for testing and it was all verified by them. That test cost 1200EUR!!!
What have the tested? The structural integrity of the new subframe? If yes than 1200 Eur is cheap. I was under the impression that only TUV can test components, DEKRA is only allowed "normal" biannual Car safety checks. But could have changed since I left Germany 10 years ago.

Do you know how much oil the stock sump will swallow?

When using M20 mounts I can always upgrade to M20 poly mounts if I feel they are a bit to sloppy. The S14 did come out nice with the M60B40 mounts.

When he was showing the car to the Norwegian control organ they sai that they would not re-register the car with S50B32 unless he got a test report from TÜV or DEKRA or a organisation like that. They did not test components, only complete car. I have not asked to much about how the test was done. Only shitty thing is that when they came back to Norway with a test report from DEKRA and has used a lot of money to get there and home, as well as the test cost. The control organ said "No, we has set a limit for 300hp in an E30 chassis and 330hp in E30M3 chassis" He got really pissed off!

I have send in a search about the swap, but have not recived an answer yet.

Are you on hold with your swap Uwe?

My car is 90% track and 10% road. I want to mount the engine quite rigid

So a "Einzelabnahme" = Single approval. 1200 is lot of $$$ for that!

so guess this was in E30 then? Are there no written laws you could research before you swap engine??

Hmmm, so what are you doing if they say NO? Wouldn't you want to sort that out BEFORE you sell your S14??

Yep , not time or money to play with cars right now.
But I am aiming to go to the Ring in August WITH the car. Don't hold your breath...

It was a 325i yes. There are no written laws, only a very very square system that has become very retrict the last years. The result is that there are more illegal tuned cars on the streets.

I will not get my car controlled before I know it is ok. I'ts fine with me to drive her as she is with the S50B32. I will not go around and be paranoid about it... I probably will not get it 100% ready for control before next year any way. Need a new set of coilovers, the K-Sport ones are nok ok for them as they are not TÜV certified.

I'm aiming for the Ring in july. First time there, going to be a big day!!

Update time! The car has now been at the painter for about two weeks. I have this week started to sand and mask up the car. So it will be primed tomorrow morning.

Oil pan and gearbox sub frame has arrived from re welding. The engine is ready for drop in as soon as I get the car back from paint.

Color is the same as she was when I bought her, I'm only painting the cowl. And my avus blue has a little topping in the paint mix that I keep for my self

that's quite a bit of welding on the sump! will be interesting to see how it clears the steering column. I am not planning to chop that much off on my sump, but I don't have the restriction with the subframe like you.

Yes, no wonder why it took the time! I hope to test fit the engine by the weekend, so there will be some clearance pictures for you then
Have to install my E34M5 brake booster as well.

why have they included the oil level sender? You won't need it in the E30.

Because the guy who has done it has a regular E30 and not a E30M3. The regular E30 have a motor oil light in the check control panel. I did not think of that at all so it did just came out that way.
