  • 17" BBS LeMans reproduced by BBS

    Hi Forum,

I was at the Essen Motorshow in Germany yesterday and also talked to my BBS parts supplier.
He is planning to have BBS re produce the famous BBS Le Mans in 17" in a small quantity. Currently this rim is only available in 7.5x17, offset 40mm for the Mini and the cost is roughly $900,- per rim.
How do you guys see it? Would there be any interest in those rims despite the cost of approximately $4.000,- per set? Original BBS, brand new and limited availability, i.e. no mass production.
    You feedback is highly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Wolf

No way that I am spending $4k unless I am getting the exact dimensions of a wheel that I want. That means Offset down to the mm and width down to the .5"

With that said....it'd be cool to have some limited edition, brand new wheels but.... too rich for me.

The LMs are an awesome wheel, but they are overpriced. It doesn't make much sense to buy the LM at that price when you could would get a custom set of BBS e50 with magnesium centers for less money. IIRC a 17x8/9 set e30 m fitment is $3400

My work has discussed developing an et20 17x8 LM with your BBS rep. Problem is no matter who it is that is asking to develope a custom batch of wheels, they have to order about 20 sets at the minumum (might have even been 50 sets, don't remember). and its very hard to find that many people with that much money, who agree on the same exact dimensions.

If anybody is interested in custom race bbs wheels let me know, as that is an option for one off sets

I absolutely love those wheels, but I just cannot see spending that sort of money. Wheels are so prone to damage.

those BBS racing wheels are indeed absolutely beautiful, but not available in 17" and I don't think you really want to know the price:

The 18" version is roughly Euro 1200,- (per rim!) depending on the width.

But you don't want to seriously compare this rim to the LM, do you? For "only" $600,- more I would definitely go for the LM. But in general I agree with you. $4k for a set of rims is a hell of a lot of money.

In my opinion the e50 fit the classic dtm style. I think the e50 is a much more serious wheel. The LM looks great. Those race LMS look insane, but as far as e30 m fitment I think the e50 is just right. Mpower 238 got me diggin these. (His are centerlocks)

They are pricey indeed. I'd have to check but it would be in the relm of 1300 a piece but hey so would 20" LM's or LM-R's that you can't fit anyway.

who's ready to take it to the next step and get those in a single lug? :jakeroutine:
