Another vote for "don't try to cheap out!". I'd buy all these parts and definitely use the new rubber gaskets, I might or might not install the hoses depending on what the existing parts looked like...

As pointed out previously, and be careful around moving, rotating parts, you should be able to feel a distinct difference between the upper and lower radiator hoses, the lower one should be cooler. Same...

Stu, condolances to you and your family. I just found this thread today. I met your Dad at several of the Gateway Tech conferences, he was quite a guy. Really enjoyed talking with him. He certainly...

Make sure the engine is warmed up, take all 4 plugs out, make sure the battery is well-charged so it cranks at the full speed, make sure you fully open the throttle while doing the test, best to pull...

Does the right front caliper drag? Could be just sticky caliper and/or the hose is holding pressure when you release the brake. I'm not an ABS guru but I'm not certain how it could lock up one whee...

Suggestions only! I have not taken my oil pan off (yet)! Good luck with the oil pan replacement. A thought. If you think replacing the oil pump is expensive, you really don't want to get into ...

Logically, the PO shortened the dipstick to clear whatever your stock dipstick is hitting - probably a baffle like Jeff S. suggests. Probably the right answer is to shorten the new one like the old one....

Good choice. My daily driver(s) are an 82 Scirocco and an 87 Camry. The 'rocco is more fun, the Toy is an automatic but the damn thing earns your respect. Enjoy your dub - should save you serious...

Would take some serious craftsmanship to make it hard to detect though...Although generally you can avoid actually re-painting under the hood, door jambs etc. But need to tape them up right. Will separate...

My only comment would be to try to find a non-Interstate route and get AAA - I'd avoid the superslab simply because it's boring, you have traffic, just does not make good use of the car. That and if...

You could (after making sure there is no voltage on it) check with an ohmmeter through the motor or take the resistor off and check it. From what you have posted it does appear that the resistor has...
