Have asked that question ~25 years ago a friend of mine who worked at BMW Motorsport at this time and he told me that they alway had a problem in that area with deformations

They had problems with the race seats in the DTM cars, for the EVO3 they have made that as a homologation part to give that area under the seat a bit more stiffness
